Our Team

unnamed source was founded by two senior communications practitioners who spent years managing crises inside agencies and in-house before building the firm they wished had existed. Between them: 25+ years of crisis and issues management for organizations including Starbucks, Nike, Rogers, Microsoft, IBM and SharkNinja - across some of the most complex and high-profile news cycles in the past decade.


We work with Canadian business leaders who need their organizations genuinely ready - not just trained on paper. And we work alongside independent PR agencies who need an experienced, discreet crisis partner in their corner.

 Carly Suppa-Clark is a senior communications leader with more than 25 years of experience protecting iconic, high-profile brands during their most challenging moments.


Carly co-founded unnamed source after building her career at the front lines of some of Canada’s most complex communications challenges. At Starbucks Canada and Rogers Communications, she led national crisis and issues response, reputation strategy, brand PR, and employee communications — helping organizations navigate operational, social, and regulatory pressure without losing stakeholder trust.


A former journalist, Carly brings sharp editorial instincts to every engagement. She’s known for strategic judgment, clear thinking under pressure, and a practical, results-driven approach that helps organizations anticipate risk before it becomes a crisis.

 Claire Rankine is a Canadian crisis communications and reputation management expert with more than 25 years of experience advising global organizations through high-stakes moments, intense public scrutiny, and complex reputational risk.


Claire co-founded unnamed source to give Canadian organizations access to the kind of senior crisis counsel typically reserved for the world’s largest brands. She brings firsthand experience from inside the room — having led crisis response, issues management, and brand protection in Canada for Nike, SharkNinja, and Microsoft, as well as top global PR firms. Her work spans consumer goods, technology, retail, and sportswear, covering everything from product and regulatory crises to executive, cultural, and social controversies.


Claire is known for calm, decisive leadership under pressure and a rare ability to align communications strategy with executive decision-making in real time. She advises leaders not just on what to say — but how to act to protect long-term reputation.
